The California company 8e6 (now known as M86) makes a filtering appliance called the "R3000 Enterprise Filter" that has become popular with schools and workplaces. If you try to access a site blocked by R3000, you'll get a message something like this:

The easiest way to bypass a filter like the R3000 is to sign up for a proxy mailing list like ours, which mails out new proxy sites every day (our proxy sites are called "Circumventor" sites). A proxy site is a site like http://www.stupidcensorship.com/ that displays a form where you can type in the page that you really want to get to (like Myspace or Facebook), and the proxy site will fetch the site and display it to you. However, most individual proxy sites get blocked by the 8e6 R3000 (and by other filtering programs) shortly after they're released. To avoid this problem, sign up for our Circumventor list, where we mail out new Circumventor (proxy) sites several times per week.
