How to bypass the FortiNet/FortiGuard Internet filter

FortiGuard is an Internet filtering program made by the California company Fortinet.

FortiGuard, and other FortiNet products, are widely used in schools and libraries to censor Internet access. A 2005 report from the OpenNet Initiative documented that FortiGuard was also being used by the government of Burma to filter Internet access for all of its citizens, despite sanctions prohibiting U.S. companies from doing business in Burma. FortiNet later claimed in 2006 that it had started to block the Burmese government from downloading updates to its product, and a 2007 follow-up report from the OpenNet Initiative on Internet filtering in Burma, did not mention the use of FortiNet.

The easiest way to get around the FortiNet/FortiGuard filter is to sign up for our proxy mailing list below, where we mail out new "Circumventor" sites (proxy sites) several times per week.

It is easy to find proxy sites on the Web, but most of them (particularly the ones that are the easiest to find) will be blocked by all major blocking programs, including FortiGuard. By signing up to receive new Circumventor sites by e-mail, you can receive a steady stream of proxy sites that will usually be unblocked for several days, so that by the time one of them gets blocked, you'll already have another one e-mailed to you.
